[Review] Underground spots in Shikoku region ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต

This is the famous...

A trip around Shikoku island

I previously rented a car and took a trip around Shikoku, traveling from Kagawa to Ehime (staying one night at Dogo Onsen), then to Kochi, and finally to Tokushima (staying one night in Tokushima City) in about two days.

Shikoku (smallest of the four main islands of Japan)

Each of the four prefectures in Shikoku has its own soapland district, and Iโ€™ve visited them all. However, there were some underground spots that were a bit tooโ€ฆ questionable for me to explore, and Iโ€™d like to introduce them in this article. (Iโ€™m not sure if thereโ€™s any demand for this, though.)

Tamamizu Shinchi / Kochi Prefecture

Tamamizu-cho is located in the suburbs of Kochi City. I heard there was a brothel there, so I decided to stop by.

I arrived around noon on a holiday. According to some information, this building, which looks like a traditional Japanese inn, is rumored to be operating as a brothel.

There was no one aroundโ€ฆthe door was closed, so I knocked and called out, โ€œExcuse me!โ€ but there was no response. It seemed like no one was there. Maybe it was too earlyโ€ฆI was a little relieved that no one was there.

I got back into the rental car and left Tamamizu Town.

Tokushima Panpan Street / Tokushima Prefecture

In Tokushima Prefecture, I visited โ€œTokushima Panpan Street,โ€ which became a hot topic on YouTube.

โ†“ The video that introduced me to Tokushima Panpan Street (from YouTube)

Having received information that the landmark was a funeral home called โ€œYarakas City Hall,โ€ I parked my car nearby and investigated the surrounding area.

Then, in one corner, I spotted a building with a door that was strangely ajar. Upon closer inspection, I saw what appeared to be human feet behind the open door... door...

Peeking inside, I saw a middle-aged lady sitting there who, in Osakaโ€™s Shinchi district, would undoubtedly be mistaken for a waitress soliciting customers. Apparently, she was one of the prostitutes.

When I spoke to her, she completely lacked any feminine aura; she was just a typical โ€œauntie. It's difficult to compare her to a celebrity, but if I had to, she was like a bare-faced, tanned (like someone who's worked in a field) Emiko Uenuma, a Japanese comedian.

The price was 10,000 JPY (Japanese Yen) (about 67 USD) for 30 minutes, or 8,000 JPY (about 54 USD) for 20 minutes, depending on the establishment. Needless to say, I had absolutely no desire to go in. Besides the lady I spoke to, I saw one or two other ladies there when I was there, so I suppose it can be considered a red-light district.

Those who want to lower their perspective might want to visit, but I think almost no one will understand anything other than Japanese.
