If you search online for nightlife spots in Sydney, โKings Crossโ is an area that almost invariably pops up. I was staying at a budget hotel nearby, so I took a stroll around the neighborhoodโonly to find it looking rather run-down. There were a few strip clubs, and I decided to check one of them out; Iโll tell you about it below.

Ways to Use Chips
The first tip, when I was sitting in front of the stage drinking beer, an Australian girl who was dancing came up to me and appealed to me, so I put a chip under her bra.
The second tip, I gave a chip to the cute and bright Uruguayan girl who was sitting next to me and started talking to me when she finished talking.
Price
There was no cover charge. A beer (360ml can of VB) cost 16 AUD, and two chips (5 AUD each) cost 10 AUD, bringing the total to 26 AUD (approximately 18 USD).
Also, a Uruguayan lady sitting next to me who struck up a conversation invited me for a private dance; when I asked the price, she said it was 110 AUD for 10 minutes. (Thatโs more expensive than in the US!)
Sydneyโs World Heritage-listed โOpera Houseโ
I took a ferry to the harbor near the Opera House to go see it. From the water, I saw the very same view of the Opera House that often appears in guidebooks.
After disembarking, I approached the Opera House from the shore. Up close, however, the building isnโt actually that large, and the exterior looks quite weatheredโitโs hard to shake a slight sense of disappointment (it has an atmosphere reminiscent of the old Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium). It might be better viewed from a distance.
Even so, the atmosphere around the harborโincluding the area near the Opera Houseโoffered a wonderful sense of openness. I highly recommend visiting if you ever go to Sydney!
Good dish in Sydney: โThe Edinburgh Castle Hotelโ
This Irish pub, located within a hotel, was recommended to me by a friend who had visited Sydney. Their daily special menu was really good; on the day I visited, they were serving a beef steak plate for AUD 19.90 (approx.14.6 USD). Considering the cost of living in Australia, thatโs an incredible price! Itโs conveniently located in the heart of Sydney and easy to get to, so I highly recommend it.
