Cairo, Egypt, a city where the pyramids are right there.
Even searching online, thereโs hardly any reliable information about nightlife in this city. After arriving, I asked a ride-hailing app driver if they knew of any places, but I received the following response (โThere are places to have fun, but theyโre geared towards Arabsโ).
Iโve definitely heard this before, but Iโve heard that people in the Arab world judge whether someone is an insider or an outsider based on whether theyโre Arab or can speak Arabic, and I immediately experienced that firsthand.
However, I thought it would be a shame to just do sightseeingโฆ so after finishing the classic tour of the pyramids and museums, I also did some nightlife research!

Iโd seen information online suggesting there were prostitutes there, but it was just a regular bar. I went in around 3 p.m. on a Sunday. There were other customers, but no one who looked like a prostitute.
I ordered a beer and a snack, and used a translation app (in Arabic) to ask the bar staff, โI heard you can hang out with women hereโis that true?โ They shook their heads and said no.
Two beers and a snack (beef appetizer) cost 550 EGP (Egyptian pounds) (approximately 11 USD). While I didnโt get to hang out with a prostitute, I thought it was a decent place to drink in Cairo, where there arenโt many places to get a drink.
Ace Club
This was another place Iโd heard about online, where there were supposedly prostitutes.
I visited on a Sunday night around 7 PM. When I told the receptionist I wanted to enter (the conversation was in English), the staff asked, โDo you know what kind of place this is?โ I replied, โItโs a club where you can drink alcohol, right?โ They asked, โAnything else?โ I honestly said, โWell, Iโve heard you can meet and talk to ladies hereโฆโ They responded, โNo, this isnโt that kind of place. Itโs a place to drink and have fun. You canโt enter unless you understand that.โ I replied, โOkay, I understand that point.โ (Though I did think, โWhatโs the point of asking that?โ)
At the receptionist, I paid the entrance fee of 300 EGP (Egyptian pounds) (approximately 6 USD) and a drink ticket fee of 200 EGP (approximately 4 USD), and entered the club.
The inside was quite spacious. Immediately upon entering, there was an indoor bar area, and beyond that, an outdoor courtyard-like area. It seemed you could eat and drink in both areas. There were several groups of customers at both places.
I ordered a beer at the bar counter and sat down at a table in the courtyard to drink it. Looking around the bar, it seemed mostly regular groups of customers who were there for a drink, but there were also three or four Black ladies who came in alone. I moved to the table where two of them were sitting with my beer and struck up a conversation.
The ladies I spoke to said they were from Sudan. They were in their late twenties or thirties. Both spoke English, so we conversed in English. I asked, โI heard that you can meet and talk to ladies here, is that true?โ They replied, โYouโre talking to us now, so it seems like itโs true.โ One of them asked, โSo, what do you want to do after meeting a lady?โ I answered, โEverything,โ and they both laughed.
When I asked, โSo, whatโs the actual situation?โ, they just laughed and said something like, โI donโt know,โ and the conversation didnโt progress. So, while one of them was talking to another customer she knew, I showed the other one the screen of a translation app (since she said she could speak French) and directly asked in French, โHow much would it cost to go to your room and have some fun?โ The lady typed on the screen and replied, โThat depends on when and how long.โ To which I wrote, โOkay, right now, for about an hour.โ The lady looked troubled for a moment, then on the screen she replied, โOkay, 500 EUR (approx. 545 USD).โ Seeing my surprised expression, she burst out laughing. The other lady seemed to have noticed our conversation and joined in the laughter. Iโm not sure if she was joking because she wasnโt interested in having fun, or if it was a foreignerโs price.
Since it seemed like the conversation wouldnโt progress any further, I handed over my remaining drink ticket and said goodbye to the ladies. I then left the bar.
Marrakech, Morocco ๐ฒ๐ฆ
Marrakech, Morocco, is a country in North Africa within the Arab world. Itโs brimming with exotic charm, and just walking around the city is exhilarating.

Admission fee: 200 MAD (approx. 22 USD) (cash only), includes two drink tickets. I visited around 3 AM on a Friday night, and there were female dancers performing in front of the DJ booth; the floor was quite lively. There seemed to be some professional-looking ladies, but Iโm not entirely sureโฆ
O FRENCHY
It was a place like a sports bar. I didnโt see any ladies who looked like professionalโฆ (though it might have been a matter of timing).
KECH CLUB

Theatro Marrakech
A nightclub located to the right of the Casino de Marrakech building. Entrance fee: 300 MAD (approx. 33 USD) (credit cards accepted), includes one drink ticket. Itโs a high-end club, similar in atmosphere to Ipanema in Singapore and VIVE in Madrid, Spain. Many of the ladies seemed to be dressed in high-end dresses. (Some looked like professionals, others just dressed up for funโฆ)

This nightclub is located at the back of the first floor of the Casino de Marrakech building. Thereโs no entrance fee. It had a slightly more casual atmosphere than Theatro Marrakech, which is on the same premises. On this day, I decided to try using the escort website that local guide O had told me about the day before to find a lady.
Before the play
The website I was told about isnโt so much a dedicated escort site, but rather a site where you can search for various services offered by individuals. When you select the โMassageโ category, many profiles of ladies offering services similar to escort services appear. The second massage was pleasant, but considering the price, there are cheaper options in Japan, so Iโd rate my satisfaction level as average.

Lastly, this isnโt an underground spot at all, but as a bonus, a local guide recommended this place to see a belly dance show. Itโs a restaurant where the dancers come to the center of the floor to perform. A set meal costs 300-400 MAD (approximately 33-45 USD).
